When a gifted artist who happens to be the princess about to come to the throne disappears, a mysterious tower is left in her wake; it's numerous halls and corridors are said to be filled with paintings. Shortly after the appearance of this strange tower, however, fantastical creatures such as elves, werewolves, dragons, shifters, vampires and more, all begin to appear in the world - said to have come from that tower.

Here you may create your own species, weave your own plots - share your ideas with other roleplayers to come up with something exciting and interesting! The only thing that limits you is your imagination... and maybe a few rules to keep us all from going too overboard.

It's terribly late, but happy new year everybody! Thirteen has found herself terribly busy with stressful issues in real life and apologises for the absence on her part. Sadly the situation was unavoidable and called for a lot of attention, and will continue to do so for another week.
Tomorrow begins our activity sweep. Make sure you check back so you don't get deleted!

On a final note, the board will be undergoing a few changers hither and thither, but nothing too obtrusive or dramatically different. Please don't fret.

Winter
The land looks rather dull and bare, with all the trees naked of their leaves besides a few sparce evergreens here and there. Prey have moved further into the Forest of Drakes to avoid the bitter cold, forcing hunters further towards the Painted Tower in order to catch their meals. Many are preparing for the Day of Stars, which comes to pass on the darkest night of Winter.

Whitemere is a small, relatively peaceful village on the outskirts of Corhaven. Travellers new to the land of Abalix usually wind up here first. The village furthest away from the Painted Tower, this place seems to be the most normal of all.
The wall that follows the path linking Whitemere to Corhaven has gone down in legend as the oldest wall in Abalix - and the luckiest. Every year on the Day of Stars, inhabitants from all over Abalix come to this place and lay offerings on the top of the wall before making a wish, and then making their way home.
The capitol city of Abalix and home to the royal thrown, this place is overrun with nobles and 'first class' people. Many of these snobbish customers dislike peasant folk, making the capitol city a hard place to make a living for poorer people and making it even harder to simply fit in. Has the highest crime rates in Abalix, but many of these incidents are covered up by law enforcement.
The slums - that the rich in the city like to pretend doesn't exist - are filled with oddities these days. Elves, dwarves and other strange creatures of fantasy have taken up residence in the slums, not all of them friendly. All of these beings are said to have come from the Painted Tower, and this leaves a lot of tension between the local humans and the newer inhabitants.
A river that runs right out into the ocean many miles away, it provides several kinds of fish for the animals, people of the slums and the big fisherman of Corhaven. Supposedly, this area is the most beautiful land in Abalix, with it's wide spaces, few trees here and there and lush grass fields either side of the river.
This forest used to have a different name, before the princess disappeared. However, after several search parties entered the area trying to find the princess and returned with their numbers depleted and tales of dragons, the forest was renamed. It's now a very eerie forest, and few humans venture into it for fear of being eaten by the shadows.
Standing tall at the edge of the Forest of Drakes and casting a dark shadow upon the trees is the Painted Tower. Supposedly, this tower stands precisely where the princess disappeared. Many of the elves and dwarves, dragons and vampires, and other fantasy creatures, are said to have spawned from this place, but whether this is true or not it is impossible to say. Only one thing is known about this tower. Inside it lives the Shadow, and few who go in ever come out again.
